AET started out in 1963 as a pioneer in the newly developing international active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) business. In a time when there still was no direct telephone service between the two countries, the Italian-based Recordati became the first Principal to be represented exclusively in Germany by AET. Today AET has over 40 best-of-breed suppliers from 13 countries around the globe, from which we can offer top-quality products at highly competitive prices. This classic API business continues to be a cornerstone of our success.

Beginning in the 1990s, AET has been able to leverage its expertise and long-term API contacts to take a leading position in the fast-paced and complex field of generic pipeline services. 2003 marked the opening of AET Laboratories, our own generic formulation and dosier development centre in Hyderabad, India. With several hundred marketing authorisations per year for over 10 molecules in all 25 EC countries, AET is now a European frontrunner in this field.
